Quenae757 9 Posted April 2, 2014 We'll it's been awhile. I had my VSG done November 5. We'll this past weekend I was having fainting spells. I went to my PCP on Monday and sure enough I'm 5 weeks pregnant and 5 months post op. I'm so nervous about eating enough and getting enough Protein and Water and food... Can I have this baby healthy I know my dr recommends waiting it was a complete shock to me. What should I be doing? Confused
Keepgoing247 116 Posted April 2, 2014 I'm sure your OB will keep an extra close eye on you. Typically, your body will make sure your baby is getting enough nutrients, even if it's taking them away from you. Congratulations on your surprise! I hope your pregnancy goes smoothly! jlw1324 18 Posted April 3, 2014 You will do great!!! I was just about 2 months post op when I got pregnant! I was so scared something would go wrong. I'm now 20 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby boy and he's measuring right on target! Make sure you meet with your nutritionist! Mine was a life saver! I eat all the time. I'm still limited to the amount I can eat at one sitting, so snacking often allows me to get to 1,400 calories per day. I've lost a total of 100 pounds and I'm at such a healthier place than I was with my other two pregnancies. My bariatric surgeon also said he has no doubts that I will have a smooth and successful pregnancy. And I haven't gained a pound!!! I am struggling with the thought of putting on any weight. At least if it happens, it's for a great cause!! Please let me know if you have any questions! I'd love to help! Congrats!!!!

mamachef 37 Posted April 6, 2014 You will be ok! I was only 3 weeks post op when we got pregnant ?!?!?!?! It was a complete surprise. I will be bringing my little boy home in 6 weeks :-) it's hard and you really have to focus on food but if you make sure to eat lost of little meals and eat the right stuff you will do great! I had horrible morning sickness and was told to eat whatever would stay down. Talk to your OB ASAP and make sure they are willing to learn about post sleeve pregnancy. When you get to 28 weeks tell your OB you need to do do a week of accu checks for the diabetes test not the normal glucose screening. Message me if you need anything :-)
