So... I got my surgery date, April 16th. Wow the time has finally came. I start my pre op diet today. I'm in complete disbelief. I can't really sleep at this point. So much is going thru my head, I actually had a dream about surgery last night. I pray God gives me strength to make it thru, any April sleevers?

I'm scheduled for 4/16..nervous, happy, scared. .on a roller coaster emotionally speaking. Keep thinking maybe I should give diet and exercise one more try..but I'm sick and tired of that. .anyone can lose weight but keeping it off is a different struggle. I've seen many people lose weight around me..then less than 1 yr later, unfortunately regained weight. And with thyroid it's really hard for me lose. Not have friends and family that agree with wls. It makes it even harder, cause they feel it's not necessary to have wls..just work out and diet. .I have a friend on HCG drops diet. Eating 500-800 calories a day..yes she lost weight. .but she's hungry and dizzy sometime. .and she cut out almost everything. .how long can someone live without all the necessary foods our body needs to function. .she has a fair of food now. .and she said she refused to gain the weight back..which I understand and I commended her of her strict diet. I just can't live fairing food and feeling dizzy.

I'm scheduled for April 7th. I very scared and nervous. I also keep thinking maybe I should just try to diet and exercise again, too but deep down I know if it hasn't happened my whole life, without wls surgery it probably won't. And I also know continuing on this path is going to be worse. I'm lucky because my husband and friends support me in my journey, although I think they are secretly nervous for me too. Hang in there we are all going to get through it!

I had my sleeve on 3/25/14 I was like many scared and nervous but I kept telling myself I am going to wake up and walk walk walk move move move and I did I think the power is in each and everyone to tell yourself that over and over and you will do it I'm day 8 post op and have had no meds since Wednesday the 26 when I left the hospital. talk to your dr let them know how you handle pain and if you have had surgery before how that went I know my surgeon listened and did everything right and that makes a difference

I have lost 48 pounds since 3/7/14

Start weight was 275

And I'm now 227

I'm 5 foot 6 so I have another 92 pounds but it will come

Congrats to all march and April sleevers

Just remember walk walk walk move move move

Good luck you will be fine

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
