MichelleInCA 22 Posted September 9, 2015 I'm at the same point as you, but I've been stalled for months! It's like this is my new set point or something. I too have carb struggles. Meals are fine, but it's those little Snacks to get me through my workout or afternoon or boring work meeting... I've been upping my workout and trying to take the carb thing one day at a time. All we can do is keep trying!
Savedbygrace22 28 Posted September 10, 2015 Thanks Michelle for the encouragement. I have been away from the website for a while, but since I've been back for three days the weight has started to move downward again. You are right, we just need to do our best and keep doing what worked for us in the beginning; and the weight will come off. Although sometimes it moves very slowly with stalls here and there. There's nothing like team support to get through the hard times. You hang in there, we can do this together!
Savedbygrace22 28 Posted September 10, 2015 Kpay10, I am so proud of you! I had my vsg on 4/2914, have lost about 110 lbs; and still have about 70 to go. I noted that you do not eat carbs; I can't imagine giving up all carbs. That's probably the reason I'm still struggling to get the last 70 lbs off. Can you share with us what you eat in the course of a day? I have so many stalls. ????
queenwendy 121 Posted October 20, 2015 I have been the same weight for 5 months! I had my surgery on 4/23/2014 starting weight was 278 I currently weigh 168. Which is awesome! But I still want to lose another 45 pounds and nothing seems to be working. It does take more to fill me up I have noticed and I make some bad choices sometimes so coming on here and reading helps me a lot but I feel like my body has decided this is it for me. Sunnybaby 95 Posted October 14, 2016 Hi All! It's been almost a whole year since there has been any action on this board. How is everyone doing? I have been doing okay. Not the best but okay. I had a baby in February and had a very rough pregnancy and a rough time after delivery. I gained 45 pounds during the pregnancy which was terrible and I was freaking out about the weight gain. I fell off the wagon and went hog wild after my baby was born and just have this 25 pounds I can't get off of me. I had a very frank talk with my NUT and she just shut down ALL of my excuses so a couple of weeks ago I started doing what I should be doing.....following the rules! So it's back to calorie counting and exercising. I just bout a Wii with the fit bundle thingy so I can exercise after work while my baby sleeps. I have lost 6 pounds in the last two weeks and hopefully more when I weigh tomorrow (crossing my fingers). I haven't been perfect but I'm trying not to binge. I realize I never really fixed the head part of this disease.....I only fixed the symptom with the surgery. I have a long way to go but I'm gonna get there. MichelleInCA 22 Posted October 17, 2016 Hi Chckadee80, great to hear from you. Congrats on your baby, and so sorry it was a rough time. I've been struggling - first no weight loss for nearly a year, and now slowly gaining. I'm freaked out! It's not meal times but compulsive snacking that is getting me. The odd things is I've been working out the most I ever have, 3-4 times a week at Orange Theory Fitness, a challenging 1-hour workout. So my pulse, BP, cholesterol, sugar, all that are fantastic. It's just the weight that is a bad metric, haha. I have a carb addiction right now - not binging, but enough sweets and carbs that it has turned the loss into a slow gain. I agree, the surgery doesn't cure the mental aspect. I thought I had that handled, but clearly not. I resisted the carbs for a year, then I started to falter. I'm glad your NUT helped you face reality. I don't have a NUT or any other support that I see regularly, and I haven't been back to my surgeon -- she is such a tough cookie, I don't want to face her! But I definitely need to get back to basics of logging and talking to someone. Your post has helped motivate me and I know someone I can start seeing. So I appreciate it and I look forward to hearing how it goes for you. 6 lbs in two weeks - I have never lost that quickly even right after surgery, so well done! It's not about perfection, but rather progress after all.
