I meet my surgeon on the 16th April for my first big appointment thats 4-5 hours long. Since I last saw the dr that referred me, I have gained weight (its been a year and gained 1stone+) and I just wondered if anyone has any advice on how to loose some weight? I know I won't exactly loose a lot in 2 weeks but I want to go there and not feel completely useless, or should I just wait it out and see what diet they put me on? Sorry if that makes no sense, I'm just so nervous,

Thank you in advance

Xx

Hi BobbieKatie,

I just Googled "stone" and see it's equivalent to 14 pounds. I would not worry that fact you have gained some. It's been a year, for crying out loud. If we could maintain or lose on our own and keep it off, we would not be here. Any drastic short term diet of two weeks would just lose you some Water weight, back in a flash.

Congratulations on your journey thus far and more excitement is to come. Best wishes to you.

The Atkins diet worked for about 6 months for me before my weight loss stopped. I just couldn't maintain a diet of virtually no carbs forever. But I can remember losing 10 lbs in 8 days by eating less than 20 grams of carbs per day and all the meat I wanted.

Thank you all for advice, I've tried Atkins but I just seem to re-gain so quickly with that :/ I think I'll just see what my doctor says, I'm just so nervous. Also I have not had the op yet (I wished) I just don't know how to change it on here. I am currently at the beginning stages, waiting until May/June until I know if I have been accepted or not.. Impatient is not the word!
