Ice Chips

My surgeon is saying that I can't have I've chips or Popsicles after surgery. Some people on here say that is the best thing that they had. Any one out there know why some can and some can't?

Thats strange because Ice was the very first thing the hospital gave me... Did your doctor say why not?

I wasn't allowed anything until after my leak test. Are you sure he doesn't just mean right after surgery until you have your leak test?

I would definitely ask why. I love the sugar free popsicles. It makes the liquid diet so much easier. Its worth a conversation with your doctor.

I LIVED on ice chips from Sonic in the first 2 weeks home from surgery. The hospital brought me tea over ice chips, and all of my Water was over ice. But only after my leak test.

Be careful and try to get "soft" ice. My sister cracked a bunch of her teeth by eating ice for years.
