I was advised to be targeting 65g of protein.

Two shakes and 1 Greek yogurt usually do the trick.

An 11 oz Premier Protein has 30 grams, so two of those plus a Greek yogurt is another 12. That hits 72 for me which my NUT says 65-75. I'm 12 days out. At 5 days I wasn't getting quite that much but it got easier much quicker than I thought. Water is a bit more important at this point. I'd aim for 48-64 oz if you can.

I have pure Protein Shake which is 23 grams per 12oz. Can I have yogurt this early in the game?

Check with your surgeon, you should have a list or plan or something. I was ok for no chunk, fat free Greek yogurt and day 4 post surgery. I've been eating Dannon Light n Fit Greek.

My NUT gave me a whole binder full of information re the different stages of the post-op diet, how to get your Protein in, etc. It's surprising to me to see how many people on this forum don't seem to be receiving much information from their bariatric surgery teams.

I was on liquids for the first three weeks after surgery. My plan required 4 ounces of Water each hour, followed by 4 ounces of Protein Shake the next hour, from 8am until 10pm each day. That meant I had 60 grams of Protein (Atkins, Carnation shakes) and 64 ounces of fluids for the day. It was boring but I was able to get in the required amounts of protein and Fluid on a daily basis

Thanks so much I can work with this. I been drinking all day, ever 15 minutes or so. I can set my alarm for every hour cool. I really appreciate this.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
