Jennifer2575 55 Posted March 31, 2014 What kind of Final tests are performed before surgery? Do I need to request a few days prior to surgery?. Usually the surgeon requires bloodwork, urine test and chest X-ray. Then you have your final pre op visit with doc and dietician. They should have the results so they can discuss at final pre op. jdillon 355 Posted March 31, 2014 The chest xray they've given me a paper to take and various locations to go and the blood work I just did. Might have to go again. The lady who drew the blood said no and the lady in the office told me it expires in 2 months and I have 3 1/2 months to go so I don't know.

cammie8825 27 Posted April 1, 2014 My surgery is in two weeks and I went today for an EKG, chest xray, abd ultrasound, barium swallow test, and lab work. I had the H. Pylori test in office with my last consult. I do not have anything else to do except start the liquid diet on Friday and do it for 10 days.

Reviewer 20 Posted April 1, 2014 I had blood work, chest X-ray and a pulmonary function test the day before surgery. I took that day off plus 3 weeks for recovery. Please take as much time as possible to recover.
