My 1st 10 days, I didn't eat much of anything either. I was living on sugar free popsicles and Crystal Light. Since you're not taking too much in, don't expect much to come out the other end. :-p Including fasting the day before surgery, I basically didn't eat for 11 days. My system was used to processing 3000+ calories a day. That's a lot of empty storage space to fill, before it needs to clear out. Just keep drinking as much as you can and give your new stomach a chance to heal. In the first few months post-op, it wasn't unusual for me to only go once a week. I had one spell where it was almost 2 weeks, I got concerned and took some Milk of Magnesia.

If you're concerned, you really should consult your doc. He can decide the best course of action.

Completely normal, I start pooping again after like a week but I didn't have a normal bowel movement for about 10-14 days. But there was a lot of air making noises in my tummy. As for my appetite it is just starting to come back 3 weeks out. You're doing great, keep it up!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
