I am still pre-op but I have a close friend who is 1 yr post-op and she taught me how to mix it into Soups, to start with powder and small amounts of cool liquid and gradually work in more liquids...I am curious to try it! she also did a mashed banana and choc mix to make a sort of 'ice cream' which I tried and was good!

I think the regular Unjury flavors are too sweet. I use one scoop vanilla and one scoop unflavored to make a Protein smoothie for Breakfast every day. If I don't do this, the icky sweetness turns my stomach. I use the two scoops of protein powder, 3/4 cup frozen strawberries, 1/2 cup lite soy milk and blend it in blender until it's a smoothie/slushie consistency. I eat it with a spoon.

Great question! I too think the flavored powders are too darn sweet. Before the surgery, give me savory foods. I struggled with the sweet for quite a while. I over did broth and even now I struggle to drink even 1/4 cup. I've been adding the unflavored powder to cream Soups and it's great! I can tell a bit of difference with consistency, but nothing that is really noticeable. Has anyone added it to mashed potatoes?

I haven't even opened the unflavored I bought over 6 weeks ago. I also haven't had any mashed potatoes because I have tried to limit my carbs...

I just received my Unjury powders. I thought it would help with my growing aversion to Protein powders but I still smell the protein. I tried the vanilla with an orange sugar free kool aid. It was dreamcicle flavor. I liked the chicken Soup but worried about the sodium content. I noticed the unflavored didn't stay mixed in Clear Liquids. Kept settling to the bottom.

It has to be heated to dissolve.

I have added it to potatoes. I could tell a slight difference, but the potato taste was still very dominant, so it wasn't bad for me. I have also added it to baby Cereal. I use no sugar added white grape juice with the unflavored and baby Cereal.< /p>

I mainly use it to make fruit smoothies now or in oatmeal. Unsweetened Almond milk, nonfat greek yogurt, frozen fruits, spinach or kale, flax oil, & a scoop of the Protein Powder and Voilà!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
