Recommended Posts

Wanted to start a thread of the books we recommed re: health (mind)(body) (nutrition), having powerful influences at this point of our journey. Ok I'll start: the entire YOU series by Michael Roizen and Mehmet C. Oz:

YOU THE OWNER'S MANUEL; YOU ON A DIET AND YOU THE SMART PATIENT. My surgury is May 8th and collectively those books have given me so much useful, current info. and empowered me in such a great way!

omg.. I love reading. I don't know any 'how to' diet type books that I've ever read beyond the intro chapter... but two books that I read again, and again that have 'weight' themes are "She's come undone" (I forget the author's name), and "Passing for Thin" By Francis Kauffel.

Yay BOOKS!!!

I just purchased a journal from e-bay called "DietMinder" It is a diet and fitness journal. You track your meals/cals/fat/protein/carbs/water/medications/fitness etc..I really love it. I know some ppl use fitday.com, but I cannot always get to the computer and this is handy for me.

also have read cover to cover many times "Weight loss surgery for dummies"

Some I found pretty helpful (and amusing) are books by Geneen Roth, like [ame=http://www.amazon.com/When-You-Refrigerator-Pull-Chair/dp/0786885084/ref=pd_bbs_sr_7/102-2743526-2985736?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1176002457&sr=8-7]When You Eat at the Refrigerator, Pull Up a Chair[/ame].

Another one I liked a lot was Taming the Feast Beast by Jack Trimpey.

If you are a stressy person like me, try reading Full Catastrophe Living by Jon Kabat-Zinn. It's pretty in depth, but very informative -- all about how to incorporate meditation exercises for stress management.
