I am wondering after surgery do your taste buds change and your sense of snell ?

I am a chef and am wondering how this is going to impact my cooking skills , especially when it comes to cooking with spices , chili , garlic etc...

I Expect it will take a few months to get back into being able to deal with all of this

I've no solid answer for you, sorry! I'm only one week out and I have become very sensitive to smells! Disgusting Fish, delicious foods, bad breath, hubby's farts, etc. :) I dry heaved when hubs cooked fish yesterday.

I'd liken it to when I was pregnant.

I'm a chef and have had no problems with smells or tastes, I just need less salt than I used to and couldn't do spicy after the beginning. I'm 21 months out now and just can't have too much sugar or fruit or I will dump and be in pain, so I stay away.
