I am having a hard time but it's an ok hard time with clothing. I am trying to wait until I reach my goal weight before I go out and get some threads. But I am really not doing good with pants. Shorts I can buy and wear for awhile but pants I have to wait. Is anybody else having this problem

Oh yeahhhh, my pants look like an army of elfs moved out. I plan on going to the local consignment shop and buying a few pair of pants to get me through awhile. They are used but in good shape so its all I need. I've bought a few shirts to spruce things up for work but all of my old dresses are fitting. I don't mind wearing them to church but I sure don't want to wear a dress to work. My coworkers will think I lost my mind. lol

I see where Dr, Shin did your surgery. I am planning on going to Dr. Neace's seminar on Tuesday, but I think it's a shorter wait time with Dr. Shin, good luck!

I spent a good amount of time shopping this weekend. I only buy if I can get a smoking deal. For example, I picked up a pair of Levi's for $7 off the clearance rack at Kohl's. I get lots of stuff there. I also did a consignment shop - found a couple things there.

I am 7 months out and down 120lbs. The first 3 months I was buying clothes every 2 weeks. Now I buy once a month. Luckily here in Indiana Goodwill is 50% off the first Saturday of the month.

I was in a size 20 when I started. I am 5 months post op, down 55 lbs and now more like a size 16. I broke down and bought a few work pants cuz even my nicest suits look super baggy. One of my co workers was almost laughing on day at how much room was in the legs of my pants. I don't want to buy a whole new wardrobe as I really want to wait until I hit the weight I think I will be for a while. Not sure when that is though?!? I also had some really skinny jeans that I used to squeeze into when I would flex and lose a bit of weight so glad I still had these pants! This last weekend I went through my closet and got rid of a garbage bag size bag of clothes. Wow. That was awesome. My wardrobe is a bit boring right now, but everything fits better so whatever I out on looks better than it used to...I agree that dresses are still fitting as well, just fit a little better now!! :) I did also recently break down and buy a blazer online at ebay that is a size 14w and it fits perfectly! Yay. Ebay is great-lots of good deals on clothes. Good luck and congrats!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
