Bad idea dinner

Recommended Posts

IT TASTED SO GOOD!! chicken with a home-made cheese sauce, veggies, the right seasonings...

I ate a reasonable amount. I felt a little pleh, like maybe I'd had one more bite than I should have.

Two hours later, I open the fridge and see the leftovers. "HEY," I must have thought, "that tastes so good I'm sure if I just ate it really fast that would be a good idea."

So I stood there and scarfed down maybe 2+ more ounces of cheese-covered chicken. I don't recall chewing very well.

GUESS WHAT. IT WASNT A GOOD IDEA.

So then the puking. And the gagging. And a little bit of bleeding for no clear reason. GOOD F*ING JOB, EMILY.

To anyone who takes an antidepressant, I urge you: ALWAYS TAKE IT EVERY DAY. If I forget, I get scary hungry and things like THAT happen. :/

Did that tonight. Thought I could have fish & chips at the local pub, I didn't rally want the fries but the fish was always great and they use panko bread crumbs for the batter. Not a good idea, I didn't eat to much but the fried aspect did not feel good at all and frankly I'm kinda mad at myself for getting something up anyways, esp 6weeks post op. Well, a good lesson learned well.

Yesterday I ate one bite of lobster boy was that a mistake. It didn't even hit my stomach before coming up. On the bright side I wont be spending my money on expensive seafood again.

This was me today, but with a treat. First I've allowed since surgery back in October. Lesson learned on my end. Eek.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
