ShineOn 0 Posted April 5, 2007 Ok, I guess it's time for my official introduction. I was banded with Dr. Spivak yesterday morning. Surgery day was the pits but today I feel great. Just minor pressure in my mid-section, and a sore throat. I have been on the site here for a few months and it's nice to finally be in band land! Thanks to everyone for your support and encouragement! This site is the best.

wanabethin 0 Posted April 5, 2007 Good morning band budy! I'm feeling great too. I was banded yesterday as well, with Dr. Carter. I had a great sleep last night, I was able to sleep on my back and on my right side. I feel some minor presssure in the mid-sec as well, and some back pain, but not that bad. Good luck in this new journey. I'll be doing my best to have the best success.:clap2:

Bandgirl 0 Posted April 5, 2007 Congrats to both of you. You are both an inspiration. This site is great. I have learned so much. I was so happy to hear that eventually I will be able to eat all my favorite foods (just not in the quantity that I do now). Can anyone tell me how long I will be out of work for. I am a cashier in a supermarket (part-time while my kids are in school) and am on my feet all day and lifting heavy things. Thanks.

Band Girl - no heavy lifting for 3-4 weeks. Get a confirmation from your doc - but you are going to have to get some stock-boys to help you lift for at least 3 weeks. Let me know if it works.

If you have to stand all day at your job I'd recommend booking a week off to be on the safe side. I will be returning a little earlier but only because I have an office job. Good luck to you! juliegeraci 7 Posted April 5, 2007 You should probably take a week off of work. The lifting part will need to go away until your 6 week check up. Julie
