Yes, I noticed it when I ran myself a bath recently. It's something that I was too big to do before, and I wanted to treat myself for a change. I had a good book, and glass of wine, and some nice bath salts, I lowered myself into the tub, and instantly felt my tailbone cutting into my skin. I took a hand towel and folded it up, and used that as a cushion, so I could enjoy my bath.

I have felt this as well and wondered if it was just me. I feel it even when sitting on some softer things. I just readjust myself and carry on! I suppose it's a pain to be thankful for...

I have the same problem. I broke my tailbone in 2006 and think that is part of why I have pain. I also have pain when I lay on a yoga mat on my side (hips) and when I sleep on my tummy at night (ribs). I had padding for SO long it is strange to get used to! I'm not even halfway to goal yet :)

get a coccyx cushion i have got 2 this is the best one it doesn;t go flat and offer no support at all or a gap from a digging tailbone.

Yep. All part of the fun of weight loss - finding bones you didn't realize you had. I thought the collar bone was far more fun than the tailbone - because the tailbone was a pain in the a&&. After a while all the pokey bones - your hip bones and tail bone in particular, seem to adjust to being so much closer to the surface and hurt less.

For 6 months or so baths were really uncomfortable for me, I always carried a sweater to sit on if I went to a restaurant. It helped when I added muscle to my posterior by cycling a lot last summer. That would be my best advice - add muscle for padding where you lose the fat. Otherwise, I found that at goal those bones became more and more uncomfortable!

I haven't been on the board for a while. I too have this problem. It feels really big. My hubby felt it and said he doesn't think it feels normal. I have a drs appt next week and am going to ask him about it. I have a lot of loose skin down in that area and thought maybe that could have something to do with it. If it does...lucky me. I have to have problems pertaining to loose skin for my insurance to cover removal.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
