I can't believe the day is almost here. I check in tomorrow at 6:30AM. Wow. My life will be changed forever. Hubby will come with me. I hope he gets up on time. I HATE when things don't run smoothly in the morning. My mom is coming to town so she will transport the boy (my 7 year old) to and from school. She will also be taking all of the sweaters that will be too big next season out of my house. Yippee!

Hello , I had gastric sleeve surgery on Monday 3-24. Everything went well. I didn't experience any pain afterward or gas. Only thing was on Tuesday afternoon the doctor wouldn't let me go home until I urinated. It took until 4:00 pm to urinate. Then by Friday I was constipated. I have been taking 3 stool soften a day, I have giving myself 2 fleet enma's and nothing is moving. So I will be calling the doctor tomorrow. The surgery was nothing compare to this Constipation. Good luck everyone having surgery this coming week. Just drink aplenty of Water today.

I'm right there with you. I have to be at the hospital at 0600. I'm the first case of the day. I have to tell you, I am a nervous wreck. I even made out a Living Will. I've had many surgeries and never bothered with a Living Will but I'm really nervous about this one.

I hope all our surgeries go well, without complications, and mostly pain free. Good luck!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
