I got hiccups a lot at first but that was an indication I was full. Not sure of your Fluid intake but sometimes drinking to fast will give you pains.....well for me it does. Just try walking, even if your walking laps in your living room, walk for 5 minutes every hour. Your probably experiencing gas pains. Gas-x strips work wonders ! Good luck to you on this wonderful journey, it's very well worth the hard work and dedication your put in to it.

I was sleeved on 3/24 and I get the hiccups too, usually if I eat too fast or if I'm just full

I was sleeved on 03/25/2014 I haven't experienced any hiccups, but the pain the back and chest is for sure gas. Its the most uncomfortable feeling, because it almost prevents you from breathing deeply. Simethicone or gasx works but the walking though painful gets it moving as well.

I was sleeved on 3/24/14 and I've experienced hiccups once or twice but it was because I took small sips too close together...I didn't wait in between..what I have experience a lot is pain in my chest and back from gas I believe..I just walk it off until the pain goes away...just walk walk walk and you will see that you will feel more better and you will progress quicker! The 4 days that I was in the hospital, I walked several times each day and i strongly believe it helps more than anything, even with pain and soreness...good luck! :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
