Icky feeling

Recommended Posts

Have been having serious heartburn and indigestion off and on the past few weeks.

I'm going to the Dr. on the 9th for a fill but idk I just don't feel right.

I'm going to have a long discussion with him.

I guess I just needed to say this out loud in a fourm.

Thanks

Your symptoms could mean something serious could be going on. Please call and move your date up if you can?

do you still have your gallbladder? I guess I was having gallbladder attacks for a couple of years but after surgey I had pain going from front to my back right at the waist line. it was causing free Fluid to collect around the port area so I had a swelling there as well. after a ultrasound and barium swallow and a mri my doctor removed a very sick gallbladder. the pain in my back went away after surgery as well as the Fluid causing the swelling. having a talk with your doctor is the only way to go. if he doesn't bring it up just mention the gallbladder. I hope you find the answers.

Regarding the gallbladder suggestions, I know two people who had emergency gallbladder surgery soon after a big weight loss. Apparently this is not uncommon. It always struck me as so unfair that my friends worked so hard to lose weight and still ended up with a stomach problem.

It's been a while, but I have an update.

Band is good, no movement (knock on wood) and all looks great EXCEPT......

I found out I have gallstones, but I have no gallbladder. lol Thats what all the pain is from.

I have to go in to have surgery (kinda) they are going to do a scope down my throat and rotor-rooter those suckers out!

But I cannot get a fill until I have this done, I am waiting to hear back from the Dr's office for a surgery date.

Wish me luck!

:)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
