Yes, I am very excited and nervous! I'm only nervous with the unknown of afterwards not the actually surgery. Might sound silly, I do have a great confindence though that I can and will do this and be successful! How are you doing and what are you doing to prepare for afterwards?

I have been cruzing this site for a few weeks. Today I got my date for the sleeve surgery. I know it's good to have support through this so hoping I can meet some people going through the same things as me. I'm nervous about telling people, not sure if I am. About the surgery itself (never had surgery) and worried about saggy skin. Ha

I'm doing very well. I actually still have pre-op and post-op items to buy. I think after surgery I will be just fine it's the pre-op liquid diet I'm dreading.

I started last week trying to elimanate caffeine from my diet and adding the 64 oz of Water that I will be required to get in after surgery. I have had a caffeine headache almost everyday. (I'm addicted to caramel frappes and NOS energy drinks) I have one week without them now and I do still get a headache at times but not as bad now. I really could use one right this minute though, this is always in my head. It doesn't help that my hubby loves them too! lol I have been taste testing Protein shakes and have one now in place of b'fast now. I really do like the chocolate Ensure High Protein Shakes. I too am still worried about nothing but liquids for the next month! 10 day liquid diet, then 3 days of clears, then 2 weeks of full liquids post op......scarry!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
