I have lost about 20 pounds. My surgeon will cancel surgery if you gain weight before hand. So I set a goal for myself to be under 300 on the day of my surgery. I only have a few pounds to go and my surgery isn't for another 33 days. I think I am doing pretty good.

My surgery is scheduled for June 3. I start the liquid diet tomorrow. I'm trying not to obsess about the liquid diet or the surgery, but instead trying to focus on the new life that awaits me. I told my office friends I may be a little cranky next week if I'm struggling with the hunger. Good luck to everyone having surgery soon!

That's awesome you look great! Keep up the good work. I feel like I gained 10lbs I think I indulged a little to much on my favorite foods lol. I start liquids next week ill have to work extra hard to lose at least 15lbs before surgery.

Well, I just stepped on the scale for the first time in two weeks and I'm down seven pounds, despite the food funerals I've been having in anticipation of my all liquid diet starting this Thursday. I'm jumping for joy because I had gained 15 pounds in a month after a medication switch. I was worried they might cancel my surgery. Sooooo- YAY!! Lol.

To drummergirl- I have to do a 2 wk liquid diet my dr wants me to lose at least 10lbs before surgery. I have a band right now they took all my Fluid out Monday and its amazing what I can eat right now. I will start liquids exactly 2 wks before no sooner lol. I have my pre-op class on the 29th. When do you start liquids?

TLawre2- I start liquids in two days, I am nervous about it but hope that I will do it without messing up! I have read how hard it is to do...but I will do the best that I can. I still haven't gotten my insurance approval, I am afraid I will do all this and then get denied. Oh well I will just do the diet and hope for the best. I bet you are excited for the pre-op class!!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
