I have to keep focused in that as well. I got tired of the milk based shakes. Went to syntax nectar and drink something call fuzzy navel, And another called caribbean cooler. I also go to the Click decafe expresso Protein Powder. I put that with ice and blend in my nutri bullet. Tastes just like Starbucks frappacino..... Well kinda. :-) ha

Where do you get the Syntax nectar? I am sick of milk based shakes too. I cannot wait until I get to start the next phase of eating. I have been eating Protein Shakes and broth only for over two weeks. Thursday I get to start the pureed stuff. Cannot wait. It is very strange how all the doctors are different!

I did cheat and eat some cheese. It almost made me throw up. I have to cook for my children and I keep wanting to sneak bites. It is very hard. Anyone else having this problem?

Good luck. I'm out a week and sicker than a dog

I am beginning to question if I even had the surgery. No pain, no nausea, can once again sleep on my stomach...just weak from very little food and always hungry! Starting stage 2 today, so cream of wheat was good. Cooking potato and fresh peas and will purée together for lunch. Sweet potato for supper with a bite of tuna fish. See if that helps.

I'm the same way. I came home from the hospital two days after surgery and went to the park with my son and then that night we went to the drive in. i haven't had any pain at all but i have had nausea. i have no problem getting my Protein down everyday. only thing i that i'm weak too. i'm not always hungry but I could eat more than i'm told to but i don't. really weird how everyone is different. The only problem i have had is with Tuna. I had a bite of Tuna with some low fat mayo. I always wondered what everyone post op meant by food getting stuck. well i found out. I won't be trying tuna for a long time again.

Hi all,

I've been quiet these past 15 days from bypass, concentrating on healing and getting required Protein and Water has become my new full time job!

I still have my JP Drain in but hoping it will be removed this Thursday at my post-op appointment.

I do feel weak on some days and others days I feel fine. I did call NUT and asked to up my B12 from 500 to 1000 per day and that seemed to help a little. Will be interested to see how blood work will look like.

As for diet, still on full liquids until July 4, then purée. My body signals me I'm full with nausea feeling...umm not good signal.

Stats so far are...

HW: 288

SW: 265

CW: 253

= 27 lbs lost from HW and 12lbs lost since SW on 6/9/14.

Praying for you all and thinking of you daily.

Kelly

From Virginia.

I get my Protein "stuff" from Amazon. The nectar comes in packets or tubs. I love the packets because I can carry them with me wherever I go. I bought 4 flavors the first round. Have not tried them all yet, but loved the 2 flavors I mentioned before. They really are a nice break from the thick shakes premier shakes.

My drain was removed at one wk visit and they left me with a hole in my side they said it would heal but it's still draining. I am glad to have it removed. I know this might be a dumb question but what does HW mean? I know sw is surgery weight and cw is current weight just not sure of the other.

I understand HW means heaviest weight. This is likely what you weighed before the preop diet. Surgery weight is the weight you are once you complete the preop diet and head into surgery.

Are u excerising. I am so tired all the time

I had no energy either. Moving to the puréed stage has helped that a great deal. I used to work to ensure I got in at least 10,000 steps on my fitbit each day before surgery. I got in 6,000 steps yesterday, 7 days after surgery. Before puréed stage I was lucky to get 2,000 steps in. So I am on the way up!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
