hannysgrammy 42 Posted May 20, 2014 Did your insurance approve u fast. And any thing u had to do for it. I was lucky and didn't have to do anything for them. What Protein Shakes are u liking
jtickle 295 Posted May 21, 2014 I have UHC and didn't have to jump thru any major hoops or anything. I didn't have to do a 6 month diet. I tried Syntrax shakes and they were disgusting. I am glad I just bought a sample pack and not a whole container. I usually get unflavored GNC pro performance or pure Protein French vanilla from sam's. If they have a real strong protein taste and smell, I just can't take it.
hannysgrammy 42 Posted May 21, 2014 GNC has lean shakes. They are the best I've had. I did get injury chicken broth not bad but u can't make it real hot. And I like my food hot. Also I love ice hoping I can do ice after surgery.

weightlossdiva1234 13 Posted May 21, 2014 I'm going from lap band to bypass surgery. Does anyone have pain on their right side from where their port was located. Just curious. I'm waiting on insurance approval for an early June surgery date.

I'm waiting on insurance approval for an early June surgery date. I'm pre-op GB, but have lap band currently.. My port is on my left side and I occasionally get these sharp shooting pains by my port area. Can't wait to get this stupid band out of me!
Zelda205 30 Posted May 21, 2014 Good morning, I went to a support group last night and found that my surgeon does not require a pre op diet. As long as I keep my 15% off. I'm getting excited. Less then three weeks now. I got my letter from the hospital yesterday with all my dates and times listed. Last nights mtg was about what you wish you knew prior to surgery... Some points were... The pain in the left lower rib area is normal, feel free to call the Doctor anytime something concerns you,be prepared that you can not gulp Water again,be prepared that your food choices will change post op due to taste buds, buy a bento box for going back to solid foods, So many more things to think about too. Oh and they said to get a buddy. Have someone that you can call and say ,,,help I want to eat..... As they talk you down! I am hoping for this group to help me! My Protein Shake I chose was "metRx" I got Peanut Butter flavor. It has 110 cal, 2 gm fat 1 sugar and 23 gmail of protein! I mix it in almond milk. Sadly, they said don't drink your calories..ie alcohol ..lol but in time you cam again!

TLawre2 30 Posted May 21, 2014 Did your insurance approve u fast. And any thing u had to do for it. I was lucky and didn't have to do anything for them. What Protein Shakes are u liking Myoplex is good it has 42g of Protein and ensure light is also good I think it has 24g. I've been sampling a lot of different kinds and Vitamins also. I have a bariatric powder it's ok but gets a little gritty you mix it with Water and the Calcium doesn't dissolve so it gets nasty towards the end. A lady on here posted that she tried sea essentials liquid and it was really good, but I have not tried it yet. I can't find it in any of the stores so I may have to order online.
