consuela11 8 Posted April 16, 2014 I got a call saying my surgery is June 4th. I have my last nut appt May 1st. They went ahead and scheduled mine because I have some work schedule issues. I start my pre-op diet May 21st. I am excited to get the weight loss started. I also have a bmi of 35 so for six months I had to stay the same. 1 amc2014 reacted to this
jtickle 295 Posted April 16, 2014 I am doing to my best at the waiting game. I usually call them just once a day in the afternoon. I would love to constantly badger them but I am trying to be polite. This is honestly the worst part of the whole process.
Mrs. Goodridge 14 Posted April 16, 2014 Is it an upper gi series? I had it last weekend. It gave me a bit of nausea but it went by pretty quickly yes it is... how long did it last?
cutiepieinchi 158 Posted April 16, 2014 It was about 30-45 min. The crazy part is the table moving. He saw the fear in my eyes and told me it can hold up to 1000 pounds hehe. I found out I have a small hernia and bad reflux. The radiologist will tell you what they are doing every step along the way
cutiepieinchi 158 Posted April 16, 2014 Oh and they have to mix up the barium in your tummy so they might have you move in some crazy positions

Mimi1986 9 Posted April 16, 2014 I have been working on the requirements for my insurance for the sleeve surgery since November 2013. I finally finished the 6 month weight management on April 4th and didn't find out till they were going to submit to my insurance that the doctor doesn't recommend the sleeve surgery based on my endoscope results. He wanted to do lapband which I didn't agree with so I switched doctors and finally everything should be submitting by the end of the week for gastric Bypass. I am hoping for an early June surgery date but am not getting my hopes up yet. 1 m_rose reacted to this
jtickle 295 Posted April 16, 2014 I called the surgeon's office and my case will be sent to the insurance company on Friday or Monday. I feel little better now, just a little. Probably going to be anxious until I know it's in the insurance company's hands.
cutiepieinchi 158 Posted April 16, 2014 I called the insurance coordinator and am waiting on him to call me back. I hope everything gets submitted soon!
Ginger Snaps 1,323 Posted April 17, 2014 Guess everyone is moving along. I have the second appt with the surgeon next Tuesday and psych eval that same day. I also have my cardiology appt scheduled in midMay so I'm hoping to get an early June date Congrats Consuela! Maybe we'll end up around the same time to support each other I'm in that boat where I can't lose or I drop below a bmi of 35. Really frustrating wanting to do something about the weight but having to wait for it!
