CAinSB 67 Posted March 26, 2014 I'm getting sleeved this Friday 3/28, really f'ing nervous and a little scared. Everyone says "you're gonna be okay", but that's easy to say when you're normal weight and don't struggle. My friends think I'm cheating by doing this and think I just need to be like them and get on a bike. Im really tired of the Protein Shakes and have been grouchy at home because I'm so damn hungry. I've cheated a little, only after reading here that people cheat on the pre-op diet all the time. My food cheat has been rotisserie chicken from costco (cheapest best meal on Earth!), sushi, and some greek yogurt. No In&Out, no Lily's tacos, no adobada, no sausage mcmuffin.....After surgery, I'm finding new friends and plan to eat less. I'm optimistic that the sleeve will work for me long-term... I don't drink much, not into dessert food, and only crave fast food once a month. Thanks for listening!
abordenster 43 Posted March 26, 2014 It's good your almost there. The pre-op diet is really hard. I cheated mostly with Protein. I would have an extra shake if I was really hungry. After surgery you will be sore. At home following the liquid foods is best. I had Soups and shakes. I switched to Syntrax protein and added it to milk or Water. It took acouple of weeks to get over the mental need for certain foods. I would try to eat like salmon or chicken and my sleeve wasn't ready. Or I would eat a bite or two too much. Now I'm eight weeks and doing really good. I'm happiest about having more control over what I eat. It's common that some people will say surgery is cheating. They may struggle with their own control. I looked at it like I was totally fine with surgery being a tool that could help me be healthy. I was the only one that had to be because it would be mine. Now my friends are doing the hcg diet and eating 500 calories a day. So we are all eating protein salads together. So try not to be so nervous. It will be interesting. Feel free to ask me if you have questions. Angelina

joyland 4 Posted March 26, 2014 I'm on my hospital bed. I did the surgery yesterday. It's all no biggie. The worst was swallowing that chemical for the x-ray test. So far so good.
