Could i have stretched it already?

Recommended Posts

So I'm post op day 6. I had a very stressful day today. Went to my primary doc for shoulder pain(surgeon thinks it's unrelated). I've been staying at my parents house during my recovery because I have two very large dogs who tend to jump at my house. So my husband and I pull up to my parents house and notice the door is open. Long story short we interrupted a burglary in progress. The bad guys got away, but we are ok. Anyway after I calmed down I started to drink Water and my Protein Drink. Without realizing it I got down an 11 oz Protein drink and some water within half an hour. Could I have stretched it out? I had no discomfort.

I have read on here many times that liquids go right through, you probably wouldn't feel any discomfort due to the nerve ending still healing.....if you are concerned give a quick call to your surgeon's office and speak to a nurse.

Sorry for your troubles.

No you did not stretch your sleeve out.

I had bad shoulder pain but it was the gas they pumped into me that somehow ends up as shoulder pain.

Just curious was your shoulder tender to the touch. It feels like my shoulder is bruised and I can barely move my arm. I called my surgeon and he doesn't feel it's related to the surgery, but my primary does. So I can't move my arm and no one will do anything to help

I experienced the same thing at 6 days out. Suddenly I could fit a lot of liquid in! Its normal, your stomach is healing and the swelling is going down. My surgeon told me not to worry about stretching the stomach until at least a year out, and that liquids don't usually have the ability to stretch the sleeve unless you are drinking and eating solids at the same time.

You're just fine! :)
