Every time I eat my tummy hurts a lot, to the point that I'm kinda developing some phobia to food. I've been trying to reach my supports and I haven't been successful. Is this normal? What can I do to alleviate this? I'm in my full liquid diet following all the rules and I don't know what is going on.

Maybe slow down and take smaller bites/sips? It could be the temperature that your stomach is objecting to or, maybe it's just not ready for full liquids.

What are you eating at this stage? You might need to go back to the previous stage and give your stomach some extra time to heal.

I agree with Blondiee...how does your tummy react when you have a clear liquid? ? Going back a stage may help and slowing down if you were drinking too quick. If you try those things and they don't help, then I would put a call into the doctor and see what they suggest...better to be safe!!

Temperature really affected my tummy. So maybe change up to something warm or room temperature. Slow down and sip really slowly!

Thanks so much for your support. My tummy hurt even with clear Water. I was finally able to talk to my surgeon today and he asked me if I was taking my pain medication regularly. I said "no because I'm not in pain when I don't eat or drink". He said I think this is the problem. Your stomach is still swollen and when it moves, it hurts" he advised me to take my pain medication regularly for the next 2 weeks and gave an appointment for Wednesday in case this wouldn't solve the problem. I took me pain medication and I'm back to normal. No pain!!!! Thank so much for your support guys. I really appreciate it and I don't feel alone in this journey.

Try some sugar free Popsicles if you haven't already. When it hurt and felt like "work" to sip, those helped. It does get better though. I kind if felt that food aversion for a day or two. Not fun.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
