KBlood 13 Posted March 24, 2014 I'm finally off just liquids and have moved up to eating things like eggs, mashed potatoes etc. I'm supposed to eat between 6-8 ounces per meal...I'm completely full before I even eat one scrambled egg. Any tips? Does this come with time?
mollz007 60 Posted March 24, 2014 That's pretty normal. I am 4 weeks post op and couldn't finish a whole egg when I started eating them. You are going to start feeling some restriction now that you are moving to solid foods. Just take it easy and listen to your body. Now is the time to learn what your body's cues are to tell you that you have had enough.
DeniseNCC1701 306 Posted March 24, 2014 6-8 ounces? Wow! I can only manage about 3-4, 5 on a good day. Don't try to force it, that's for sure. Maybe stick with cream Soups, cottage cheese, and the softer, more "liquidy" things for a few days? Be well…
mollz007 60 Posted March 24, 2014 Oh and by the way, this is why so many people rely on shakes for so long. It is so hard to get in everything you need when you feel full so fast. As long as you are getting your Water and Protein in, I would say that you are doing great!

Recycled 2,182 Posted March 24, 2014 "I could only get in xxx ounces" That should be your motto. Limiting intake is the reason you had the surgery. 6-8 ounces sounds like too much. I'm three months out and 3-4 is still my limit. (and I'm glad). Don't try to force more. The stomach will relax soon enough, don't encourage it before that time. I hope mine stays 4 ounces forever. Seela 1,187 Posted March 24, 2014 Wow, 6-8oz seems like a lot. Are you sure you read the timeline correctly? I understand all programs are different so no need to jump down my throat. .lol... but for ME I started with 1-2oz and at 5 months out still can't get down much more than about 3oz dense Protein at one sitting.
