My journey to goal in 6 monthes

Recommended Posts

Wow I can't believe how quick this last 6 months have gone. I remember first week out thinking how am I going to get through this as it really was difficult in the beginning adjusting to new foods, new portions, limitations but the fact that I have reached goal has made me feel do proud of what I have achieved and who I now. My confidence has increased 10 fold, I'm not grumpy and down in the dumps and I am so much happier that my children and husband have seen the new happy go lucky me that my husband remembers 10 years ago when we first met. So I was sleeved 23rd September last year weighing in at 90kg at 157cm. Although my height hasn't changed lol I am currently 33.4kg down sitting at 56.6kg with a normal (or what they call normal) bmi. Here is a before and after photo. Would love to hear about other peoples journeys xx

Holy cow! You look amazing! These are results I'm hoping for. We look like we might be around the same age (I'm 27) and I'd love to come out on the other end looking as young as you do. I feel like the weight really makes me look older.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
