For those of you who have yet to undergo the surgery:

YOU CAN DO IT!

I was super nervous, especially because I didn't know what to expect...but I'm telling you that we make it so much worse than it really is. I am doing fabulous and am feeling great. No problems at all. When you get a skilled surgeon and a wonderful team (YAY to Grand Traverse Surgery), they make it such a positive experience.

For everyone:

My weight loss has slowed. I'm wondering if my body is used to such little calories going in. I've also noticed that I don't feel the band (at all), and I am HUNGRY. Protein shakes help, as do thicker Soups, and soft-type foods (like cottage cheese and applesauce), but my stomach growls a lot. But that's okay. It can be angry with me. Eventually, when I'm healthier and have weight off of me, my stomach will be happy that I put our health first. So, I let it growl every now and then. I let it remind me that I am no longer going to be a slave to food.

Be encouraged everyone! Here's to HEALTHY living! :)

GReat job on your loss. This weekend I had to force myself to eat because I was not hungry. I had a yogurt after the gym and before I realized it was 2pm. I just have not been as hungry as I thought. My fitness pal has helped alot with letting me visually see what I am eating and seeing where I need to add more nutrition. Last night I did have a really upset stomach, no vomiting or nausea just upset. So today I'm really not feeling the food thing today. But overall I love my band

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
