meatball1 29 Posted March 24, 2014 I caught myself today going right to food when I was supper stressed . The good thing was ... There wasn't a lot of food in the house but in 90 minutes I had a Protein Shake 5 pretzels and a Protein Bar. It's really scary ...
dlc0963 22 Posted March 24, 2014 I've also found myself reaching for food for no apparent reason. More and more I find myself trying to reconcile my "head hunger" with real hunger. I think I will always struggle with this knowing some days will be better than others. But I am also only 9 weeks post op and am still learning about my new stomach, which I privately refer to as Tiny Tum. 4 katesuccess, MizNola, SliminDownThick and 1 other reacted to this
McButterpants 2,846 Posted March 24, 2014 Yep - the sleeve can't stop you from putting food in your mouth...You just won't be able to eat as much of it. I have a sleeve of steel, so nothing bothers my tiny tummy - that's a double edged sword. I can eat anything which is nice, but on the flip side, I can eat anything. Sugar, carbs, ice cream, pizza...ANYTHING. One thing that helps me when I find myself reaching for Snacks or stress eating, I make a shake or eat a Protein bar. Or I'll go for a walk, even if it's around the block. Just something to redirect. 1 katesuccess reacted to this
alwaysonadiet 47 Posted March 24, 2014 Shouldn't have most of the hungry hormone come out with the sleeve surgery? So you don't feel like eating all that crap?

McButterpants 2,846 Posted March 25, 2014 How far out from surgery are you @@McButterpants ? I am just over 4 months post op In answer to alwaysonadiet's question about hunger - I don't feel hunger like I used to. So it isn't a physical hunger wanting to eat "bad" foods...it's old habits that die hard. I am a stress eater - I've had to learn to control that. Although my life doesn't revolve around food like it used to, it's still a battle with regard to the head hunger - the head hunger won't go away with surgery. 1 Band2Sleever reacted to this
meatball1 29 Posted May 4, 2014 Head hunger and bad habits are the worst. I have good days and bars days. Slow loss but it's ok . I don't deny myself anything . It's usually a couple of bites then I feel it unless it's ice cream. Then my stomach feels crappy after.
Mississippi Girl 124 Posted May 4, 2014 i have always eaten out of boredom . i get restless and go to the kitchen. I am working very hard to fight that. thank goodness i can't just go hog wild and eat a bunch of junk. first of all i don't keep all that junk around any more. i am seven weeks and have a fear of stretching my pouch. i hope it's not that easy to do….but not so sure. i've read a lot about people have more than one surgery due to stretching pouch. i don't want to be one of them. happy losing, Mississippi Girl
