Well today for lunch are 1/4 cup of mashed potatoes and 3 bites of applesauce and I'm full. Green zone maybe???

is like to rephrase that.

Not "full" I'm satisfied :)

Both foods are slider foods and in a properly adjusted band would slide through leaving you with some hunger. If you have to rely on slider foods here on out you won't get a lot of needed nutrition from these type of foods. I know it sounds good to only eat a few tablespoons of mashed potatoes and applesauce but there's a lot of empty calories there.

How are you doing with solid Protein so far? Just remember this, all calories are not the same. Your body will need a lot of Protein to stop itself from feeding off your own muscles for energy and subsidence.

If this is the only foods you can tolerate, I would think you're still too tight and may be in the red zone? Could be swelling from the fill/unfill or could be too tight from an overfill. JMO

I was instructed by my dr to eat soft food for 2 days since I just had my unfil last evening. I'm moving to solid foods Thursday. That will be the true test. I'm hoping it won't be a problem

My dr. Says the same as yours but to proceed slower with adding solids back if needed. You've had other fills so you know your body best but I just wanted to say ( in case your body is like mine) but I stay tight from a fill for about 10 days before I get an accurate feel of how my body will handle the new fill on a daily basis. Good luck though hope it's green zone for you

From now on I will do liquids at least 24 hours and more like 36-48 hours after being filled and then eat softer foods and slow and chew chew chew - b/c I think that I caused my band area to swell by eating hard Protein right away - duh me! I'm better but still very sore in the throat area and not like a scratchy sore throat more like a muscle sore throat from being too tight. Rybearsmomma - you and I are at the same point in our journey with similar things happening :) hard lessons to learn that's for sure!

I hope that you are well! :)

thank you so much! And you are right it's very much a learning experience. I like your idea of the 36-48 hrs after a fill. I'm sure our Tummys are mad at us being poked all the time ;)

I love shrimp and I love salad and both give me problems from time to time and I have had my band almost 3 years. Try fish, hamburger or something a bit easier to go down before the unfill. I have had 2ccs at one time before and that is a bit aggressive but I am sure your doctor is monitoring you just fine. You have to help him too. Sounds like you are listening to you band very well..keep up the good work, but don't fall in the trap of enjoying the weightloss so much you don't eat properly, that is not why you got the band. Take care and good luck.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
