mumof2boys 71 Posted April 4, 2007 Well...I got the call today from my surgeon's office. I have been approved by the Insurance Company. I can't believe it...I thought I would have a real fight. I am scheduled for surgery on 4/30/07. I go to the office on 4/10/07 to receive my liquid diet. I have so many different emotions right now. I'm happy, excited, scared, anxious, nervous, etc. I think right now my biggest fear is doing the liquid diet (Optifast). Did anyone else have a real problem with it? I look forward to talking to many of you while I go through this journey. :cry
ReneBean 3 Posted April 4, 2007 Congrats!!! How cool for you that you didn't have to spend months fighting the insurance company. I can't help you with liquids... I only had to do them for 2 days prior to surgery. Before that it was just a low-carb thing. Remember - if you are dying and you have to eat something - make it a raw veggie or some other low-carb, low-cal option. Shrinking your liver and sucking as much fat off of it as possible is important to make the surgery less complicated. Good Luck and Welcome to LBT!
mumof2boys 71 Posted April 4, 2007 Thanks for the welcome. I do feel very luck about the Insurance company. Prior to my paperwork being submitted, I already did everything...including a sleep study, 6 months of a doctor supervised weight loss program, blood work, EKG, psych eval., etc. I just expected them to come back and at least want something else. I cried when they called. I just love my surgeon. He's the best. I am so glad that I found this site tonight...I know that you guys are going to help me through some tough times.:nervous
