TMI: Menstruation

So here goes a TMI question. I have been due for my period but I assumed because of surgery, things would get thrown off a good bit. For the last couple days, ive been experiencing little clots and a very minimal amount of blood. But it is extremely dark brown, almost black. I know dark blood usually = old blood. But has anyone else experienced anything like this? Should it be something I should bring up to my doctor or do you think it's just my body's way of trying to be normal in a not so normal time?

Same thing happened to me so I'm assuming it's normal. Either that or both of us are very abnormal! ;-p

My Dr told me that estrogen is stored in fat so when u start losing so rapidly it gets released and messes with your period. Still bring it up with your Dr just to make sure.
