Hi ! New to this site!

Hmmmm, what profile?

My suggestion would be to first check your local Bariatric Surgeons and see if they have any seminars on Weight loss surgery.

Then.......go to one!

I'm not trying to be a smart alec. That really should be your first start. Along with providing info on the various surgeries, they will typically use a coordinator that can inform you of the requirements to qualify and they will check into any insurance coverage you might have for the surgery.

So, as I said above...... Find one and go to it. :)

Try a computer to put your stats in Mandy. Many people qualify with insurance, many do not. Many go to Mexico, many do not. If you have co morbidities, your insurance might pay. A lot depends on your BMI and co-morbidities. You will find all your answers her but be specific. We love to help. Linda

So here is my story... First things first I'm a twin and adopted ! I know both family's and everything! I'm 29 in April weighing 235 and am 5'8 ! So that's just the basic info... Now for the main reason I'm posting...

I was very skinny all high school size 00 and around softmore year . Was made fun of called anorexic by people passing in cars by doctors and anyone! Truth was I ate a ton couldn't gain weight! Drank ensure after meals just to gain weight! By 18 I was in a size 11 was and was a partier... I was forced to go to a bible college where I came back a size 4 . My adopted mom was who raised me she almost died once when I was in high school ! I stopped acting out as much but still experimented with drugs off and on! Then in 08 my mother passed just at the point when she was becoming my best friend! I started drinking a lot with my boyfriend and smoked pot... Just ate and didn't want to feel anything! Then soon after my mom died of lucemeia 3 months after being diagnosed my boyfriend and I broke up anyways I finally met someone special and have been with him for three years but since 08 I have gained over 50 pounds! I didn't bootcamp lost 32 pounds gained that back and then some! I started going to gym did insanity Lost weight with both then hurt my heel! Dr says a spur and plantis something and flat foot! I'm a cashier so by the end of the day I'm limping! Hurt! I get back spasms ,my syatic nerve , I have scoliosis and long story short I just stoped going o he gym . I'm afriad I'm gonna hurt my knee or heel more!

I just attended my first informational seminar yesterday ...

I'm very fimiliar with theses types of surgerys my birth mom has it two sisters dad and friends! I know that I'm an emotional eater and that I can get addicted to other things and it's not easy! Anyways I want the sleeve I have blue shield ! And yah. This is my story from my profile!

I hardly drink at all anymore maybe 1 a month and I'm not on any drugs! Just to make that clear ! Just a lot of acting out and hard times when I was younger... Dealing with being adopted my mom almost dying from an idiot nurse who injected her with wrong meds on purpose! Then she died in 08 !

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
