Ideas for celebrating goals

Recommended Posts

i know for many years, I have used food as a reward. Even when dieting, if I reached a goal, let's go get ice cream or a donut because I met my goal. Since life is different, and I am 6 pounds from "onederland", I want to mark this occasion with something better. So my question to you guys is - what did you do to Celebrate?

Great job on losing the weight. That is great that you are not celebrating with food. I used to do the same but I have change my attitude. I pamper myself by going shopping, get a massage and/or get a mani/pedicure. Welcome to the wonderland!!! It taste wonderful and thin!

For Onderland my prize was a bicycle. I had never learned to ride a bike before!

I had made a list of goal & rewards I wanted before I started to lose weight: a bike, a certain watch, specific clothing, a mini vacation... I just hadn't realized how quickly I'd lose the weight! $$$!! lol

I know someone who started a Pandora charm Bracelet and added a charm at each milestone

I do pandora. Got the bracket for surgery and a charm for each 10 or 20 lbs.

I celebrtated my weight loss by purchasing some sexy underwear and bras. I needed them anyway. I normally wear plain ole' white cotton panties and plain white or beige bras. I decided to buy some nice, but inexpensive lacy undies and bras. I'm getting sexier by the day and gosh darn it--I deserve it!

I hit 45 lbs down overall today. I went shopping for new clothes.

When I'm down 100 lbs my BFF and our families are going to Disney World to ride Dumbo together. We did it as fat chicks that barely fit (she had the sleeve too).

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
