I've been struggling getting the "scale" to move below 245 and this morning I got on the scale and it was 247. I stupidly got on it again this evening and it was 250. I have been following the program to the letter all week, 80 gm of Protein, drinking all my Water 80-100 oz, and exercising. I can't figure this out and am beyond upset. My partner is sooo sick of me talking about weight loss so talking to her about my frustrations really isn't an option right now.

I'm a week post op so I have nothing to give advice on but I empathize. It's got to be so very frustrating. Is it time for your period? Not sure howmy body is going to react being sleeved but when I've dieted, no matter how hard I try, the two weeks before my period - no way the scale was going down. It seemed especially so when I had bad PMS. It's got to be frustrating. Keep the faith. Let a bad day go to bed. Start again tomorrow. :(

I'm not sleeved however, I know with any attempts at weight loss my scale was not my friend as I get on it WAY too many times a day! You fluctuate from morning, noon to night. Just a thought but maybe put the scale away for the wekk (I put mine in my trunk once ha!). That way you can continue down the path you know is correct and the next time you step on that scale you may be pleasantly surprised. I know seeing my weight fluctuate zapped my motivation and confidence.

Good luck!

We all have stalls. I have been doing a lot of reading on here and have figured out it happens to everyone. I was feeling frustrated too. I started eating more good veg, slacked off a little on Protein. Just mixed it up a bit. It broke the stall. Plus i have to take Miralax every day. See if your dr will prescribe it. Hang in there.

Oh... I'm so sorry you're struggling. .. I totally get it. Anything can cause the fluctuating. .. TOM, sodium, the dog barking... lol. For me I'll go on a losing streak and it's great then it will slow down, then stop, then go up a little then back to losing. It's scary every time but I've been through it enough times now that I know not to freak out. It's all part of the healing process, it's totally normal and while it sucks it's actually a good thing. Hang in there, sounds like you're body's gearing up for some good loss!

Oh honey throw that darn scale out the window, the scale is the devil it hates me, I've been at the same weight for month now, I've been loosing inches because I'm working out, my nut told me to throw my body for a loop and shock it with food, I'm just started so finger crossed this would work. I also work out a lot. Don't listen to your scale, go by how your cloth feel. Good luck and keep it up you're doing great.

You've heard it here & I'll bet you've heard it from your Dr's office as well. Do NOT weigh yourself every day. Some days the scale goes up, other days it goes down. You are doing great. Mix things up a little bit. Try different foods for a week, but stay a focused as you are meeting all those requirements.

I don't even know how you manage to drink all that Water & Protein. I have a tough time getting Protein & even liquids in. I'm jealous.

Remember, the weight didn't come all on in a week, and it's gonna take more than a week to come off.

You can do this.

My weight definitely goes up in the evening - up to 3 pounds higher than in the morning. Your most accurate weight is after you wake up and pee. When you weigh yourself, do it at this time when you do. Put your scale in your partner's trunk (not yours!) and only bring it out twice a week. Seriously. ANYTHING can make the scale fluctuate - weather, monthly cycle, exercising, etc. When you exercise, you build muscle and burn fat. Muscle weighs more than fat. If you measure yourself, you will see inches come down. I just had a non-scale victory by fitting into size 20 pants (I started at 26!). Those are the victories you need to focus on, not the numbers on the scale. The scale will follow when everything else falls into place. I promise.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
