I'm excited to try the powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury products. So far I haven't found a Protein drink that I like, so maybe this will do the trick.

Okay, I just made up the chocolate splendor and it was wonderful! Light years above what I've been drinking.

For those that have used both, how do unjury shakes compare in taste to Premier Protein? I'm going to costco this weekend, but I don't want to be stuck with 18 shakes I don't like.

Hi tyt221b,

I've tried both. I prefer the taste of unjury. Premier is also very tasty and a bit more convenient. I haven't had surgery yet (I'm hoping April), but I'm trying to find what I Iike now so that I'm prepared for the pre-op diet and post op.

Hope that helps. Let me know what you think.

Try GNC. I haven't found a Protein Shake that is tasty either, matter of fact Syntrax shakes made me sick as a dog. Anyway, I get unflavored Protein Powder from GNC and you can't taste it at all. I have also tried their GNC Go lean already prepared shakes in the banana cream flavor and it's pretty good. It didn't have that Vitamin taste to it. I wish you all well with your weight loss journeys.

I'm headed to GNC at some point tomorrow for unflavored protein powder. I'm a little over a week post op but I can't stomach another damn shake lol. I have Premiere Protein from Sams Club and Body Fortress from Wal-Mart. The taste of them isn't bad, I'm just sick of drinking them 3 times a day for the past 3 weeks with another week to go until pureed.

What are you putting the powder in? I've heard people put it in their Water with Crystal light, in broth, or even mixed with yogurt. Does it alter the taste of anything?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
