JillC878 59 Posted March 20, 2014 Wondering if anyone else gets a hunger sensation after they eat? I have only been truly hungry a hand full of time since my sleeve, but on several occasions I get the sensation of hunger after a meal. It only last a few seconds and I know that I am not really hungry. Is this normal/common and what causes it?
RJ'S/beginning 5,358 Posted March 20, 2014 That's your head hunger kicking in...if you were to keep on eating you would get sick..See it for what it is and kick it to the curb! Good for you, you are starting to read your body!!! 2 Taphophile and Recycled reacted to this
Sassy Pants1 186 Posted March 20, 2014 I think it could be an air bubble. I sometimes feel hunger when done eating and then a little air bubbles up and the hunger sensation is gone. Many new sensations to get used to.
JerseyGirl68 1,172 Posted March 20, 2014 Oftentimes, stomach acid can mimic hunger pains. Are you taking a PPI? I took prilosec for a few months after surgery.
magtart 603 Posted March 20, 2014 I get that a lot. It goes away after a minute or two.
Recycled 2,182 Posted March 20, 2014 head hunger is like the TV. All those food commercials are meant to work on your mind, not your stomach. And then the mind goes about reminding us of those stimulating impulses all the time. Mostly when we have conditioned ourselves to responding......like finishing our meals too fast and wanting more....biggie size, or when we are bored and lazy and trying to fill a few moments during TV commercials or sitting in traffic staring at fast food joints. Get yourself a Water bottle to hang onto and drink when the urge arises. Or get up and do a walk outside. Get you MIND off of it. You're NOT hungry. 1 NewGabriella reacted to this
NewGabriella 1 Posted March 20, 2014 So true about those tv commercials. Head hunger is no joke, something I never even thought of before.
alwaysonadiet 47 Posted March 21, 2014 That head hunger seems so real so be careful if you act on it. It will make you miserably sick!! Take your PPI. eat a Popsicle or some Jello. It will go away. I'm at 3 weeks still waiting for it to go away! lol????
Amanda121279 17 Posted March 21, 2014 I have hunger pains still. My stomach still growls and fusses when its empty. I am 9 days post op and have had hunger pains from day 1. Spoke to one of the nurse practitioners and she said its normal.
