Couple of Questions

If a person has a BMI of 33.2 with no other serious health concerns (for example heart disease of diabetes) are they still eligable to get the Lap Band? If so, would the surgery be financeable through your lending companies?

Depends on your doctor. IN countries other than the US where the surgery has been done for 13 years. They often band, lower BMI patients. Go check out the Lower BMI thread and ask some of the great people on there about it.

As others have said, you'd probably not be able to get band surgery here in the States with such a low BMI. There are other options.

As for financing, if your credit is decent you should be able to get a personal loan for whatever purpose you want. You don't have to tell the lender what a personal loan is for if you don't want to.

Would you be able to send me a link or give me the info on the place where you got yours. Maybe, if you want tell me a little about the process you went through. Thank you :-D

My BMI was 32 and my doctor is in Dallas. I was self-pay. My doc's opinion was that the 35 BMI floor is an arbitrary limit and that if he felt surgery would help, he would do it.

I had surgery last September and have never regretted it.

Good luck!

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
