bsmalls 5 Posted March 20, 2014 I'm having the gastric sleeve done on Monday! Would any of you mind sharing how you got your Protein in the first two weeks that didn't taste horrible?
BryBro63 410 Posted March 20, 2014 Many people recommend Isopure, since it's so high in Protein content, but not everyone likes the taste. I was using them at first, but my system doesn't particularly care for Splenda (Sucralose). I was using the New whey Protein Shots pre-op, but when I tried this post-op, it was truly awful!! Couldn't keep them down!!! I personally did the best with the Pure Protein shakes and the EAS Advantage shakes...they do pretty well with the Protein, without so many calories and carbs. Wish you the very best with your surgery and your weight loss efforts!!
shadowsmom 15 Posted March 20, 2014 I had a real dislike for the icky sweet Protein Shakes (I'm 2 weeks post op) and looking for an alternative; I tried unflavored ( really isn't unflavored!) and was just making myself do it until I found the Syntrax LEMON TEA nectar. I mix this with unsweetened tea and it is actually pretty good. Best wishes on your journey. Welcome to the great adventure

ArixS 28 Posted March 22, 2014 I just had surgery march 18th I never had a problem with premier Proteins but I just can't handle them right now to thick so I started drinking muscle milk. It's more expensive but that's the only way I'll be able to I noticed muscle milk is way thinner. I was watering down premier but not even that helped. Btw just some advice for me the first two days out were the hardest throwing up my meds my fluids u don't feel it as much when your in the hospital because you have all the iv's but stay positive everyday that go's by your gonna feel better. Good luck!
cinthysline 20 Posted March 22, 2014 I drink the Premier Protein by pouring it at room temperature over ice and add a 1/3 cup of coffee to it. This makes it much more easier to drink after surgery.
bsmalls 5 Posted March 23, 2014 Thanks everyone! Great tips! I'm worried about the sweetness of certain drinks because when I was pregnant I hardly ate anything for the first 3 months and my sugar tolerance went way down. Things are still pretty sweet for me and I had my son in 2012. Surgery is tomorrow! Been nauseas all day and I hope I think it might just be nerves! Also today an older woman asked me if I was pregnant...pretty ironic for me since my surgery is tomorrow. Can't come soon enough I guess Oh well looking forward to the next chapter in my life! Thanks again! Tomorrow I will join the sleeve bandwagon! Wahoooooo!!!!
iris26 64 Posted March 24, 2014 I use this with skin milk and two tablespoons of low sugar hot chocolate. I sip all day long. It has 30g of Protein, carb 1g and sugar <1g. 1 Denisepr reacted to this
