Thanks for asking. I was wondering the same thing. Also, what is the best way to wean yourself off of coffee pre-surgery?

That's funny, my mom just asked me a few minutes ago if I've had any coffee (she spent the night and wants coffee this morning). I bought some Decaf before my surgery and haven't had one drop. I could drink it, but I don't have a craving for it. I'll make some this morning and see if I still like it.

We quit coffee and diet coke pre-surgery last year (4 months total) and about 1 month post op in January, we started on coffee again. I drink 1 cup and my husband drinks 4 cups. We don't drink it in the summer at all. We have had no problems at all.

No sugar, just lite sugar-free Creamer. I promised my husband I would not be his keeper. I was a little nervous about his drinking 4 cups but he has less issues than I do.

I am 5 months out and I drink Decaf. Pre surgery I didn't drink decaf too much. But for me, personally, when I drank the leaded post op, if I would skip just one day having any, I would have the dreaded caffeine withdrawal headache.

So I just switched to decaf and no headaches. That said..I use powder milk and sugar free Syrup in mine when I do have it. It really wasn't until I hit about month 4ish that I could tolerate coffee in the first place. It gave me a grumpy sleeve before that.

I started at 3 weeks with regular coffee. Could really only drink about a 1/2 of cup for a long time. I never used sugar, just a little half and half. I'm 11 months out now and am fine :)

I started mixing regular and decaffeinated coffee together two weeks before my surgery so that I could get used to Decaf without the headaches. Two days after surgery I started drinking decaf coffee and still do. My surgeon doesn't want me on any caffeine because he feels it's a appetite stimulant.

I was offered Decaf in the hospital a few hours after surgery and drank it happily. I started adding a teaspoon of decaf instant to my Protein Shakes when I got home. At three months out I started drinking regular coffee (not decaf, not instant), but small amounts, like 1-2 cups in the morning. I will sometimes go up to 3 cups. And by cups I mean the lines on the coffee maker, 2 cups, 3 cups, etc. -- not 3 giant mugs of coffee or 3 talls from Starbucks or anything like that!

I drink my coffee black so I don't worry about added calories from creamer or sweetener. All the latest published science shows that coffee is not going to dehydrate you so I don't worry about that either -- it counts towards my daily Fluid intake.

I am almost 8 months out. I drink coffee ALL the time. My first two cups are caffeinated then I switch to Decaf for the rest of the day. I drink it black with nothing added.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
