webhopper 57 Posted April 12, 2014 Hey so much and dlperry. Ive also got surgery scheduled for the 21st and I'm doing great. Got a little dizzy today though because I went to a track meet and the heat plus sun and liquid diet really zapped me. So I'm home now and I ate some grits and laying down. I will be glad when the liquid phase is over. Omg I was craving tuna salad so much but I couldn't have any

Sboulie 90 Posted April 12, 2014 I am really having second thoughts. With only 8 days left before D day, I'm getting scared. Why can't I just stay on a 1200 calorie a day regimen? I could binge if I want for a day then get right back on track. Is anyone else freaking out?
LaylaJ 17 Posted April 13, 2014 I had my sleeve on April 8th. I know I am only 4 days out but I am having such regret. I am tired of the pain and tired of getting sick. I hate the liquids and miss being able to chew my food. I know this is probably crazy. I prayed so long and so hard for this surgery to feel this way now but all I have done today is cry. Somebody please tell me this will get better and how soon I can expect it to get better.
jbyler 20 Posted April 13, 2014 I am only 9 days put and I also felt exactly the same way around day 4 & 5. The past couple days have not been too bad though. I still cry at least once a day and sometimes wonder why but then I remember to take it one day at a time sometimes one hour at a time. I'm still not convinced I did the right thing but I'm trying to be positive & think positive. This site has helped me a lot. 1 LaylaJ reacted to this

Fat2FiveK 31 Posted April 13, 2014 I've had no regrets at all. I do look forward to moving past this icky phase. I do feel emotional. I cried today while watching Monster in Law. lol my husband and I got a good laugh. The roller coaster reminds me of when I was pregnant. Maybe your emotions are playing to your regret? I hope this passes for you quickly.
jbyler 20 Posted April 13, 2014 That was exactly what I told my husband too that my emotions are just as bad if not worse than when I was pregnant and just after having my daughter. My hormone levels are totally out of whack! 1 Fat2FiveK reacted to this
Nicey2u 228 Posted April 13, 2014 My surgery is scheduled for the 23rd! You guys are making me want to cancel!! Haha I don't think I will have any regrets though... I am pretty much set to be in liquids for a few weeks and as long as I know there is a light at the end if the tunnel I will be ok!! There are two girls who were sleeved in my office and they eat regular foods but get ful faster than normal! That's ok by me! As long as I feel full I'm all good! They both told me you really don't feel hungry for the first couple of weeks! I started at 270 and am down to 245 pre op... I am sticking to my docs instructions... No saying good bye to certain foods for me. I said goodbye to them in February when I decided to choose life and get sleeved! : ) I hope it gets better for you soon!! webhopper 57 Posted April 13, 2014 I'm having second thoughts too but then I realize that this is the right thing cause if I could have kept the weight off long term then I wouldn't be sitting here weighing over 200 lbs 1 Memegirl reacted to this
webhopper 57 Posted April 13, 2014 The sleeve is just a tool.... that forces your body into eating small portions.
LaylaJ 17 Posted April 13, 2014 It could be my emotions. Plus I have a really low tolerance for pain. So maybe once I am a few more days out and I heal I will feel better.
Fat2FiveK 31 Posted April 13, 2014 I wasn't sure what to expect, some members are out grocery shopping on day 3 others are still miserable at day 20. Everyone seems to have a different mental and physical outcome. I don't think I've read anyone that is 6 months + out ever saying they regret it or wouldn't do it again. I feel lucky so far with my recovery. I wish the best for everyone else.

I didn't mean to scare you with the negatives so let me share some of my positives to encourage you. I haven't felt hungry since the surgery. I haven't craved the Dr. Peppers I was addicted to. I can already tell I have lost a little weight post op. I was a huge candy and sweets type person and I haven't wanted anything like that since then. While I have been nauseated I have taken the nausea preventative that the doctor prescribed and I haven't thrown up any. It really does have a lot more pros than cons. Don't be afraid it is a good decision to have made. You may do a lot better than I have in the beginning because everyone is so different. Good luck on your surgery and best wishes!!! webhopper 57 Posted April 13, 2014 My emotions were all over the place on day 1-4 of the liquid diet but I'm calm now. I hope I don't have regrets but having lost 26 lbs so far pre op makes me wonder if this is the right choice. In my head I know it is but I'm nervous and a little scared.
