Am down 43 pounds. I have NOTHING to wear to work. I cleaned out my closet and now it is full of empty hangers. I had a wedding to go to last weekend and had to wear my smallest pair of slacks that I could still pull up and down with unzipping them. I girded em up with a belt and wore a loner shirt that was also too big. On the way home I told my husband that I couldn't go home without a few shirts and at least one pair of pants. So we went shopping. It is weird to shop when you have no idea what size you are. I gravitated toward the plus sizes but knew I couldn't wear them. I saw a few things I liked but discarded them because they looked to small. Finally I tried one if the shirts I thought was too little and it was too big. Crazy. I now own 1 pair of pants, 5 shirts, 3 pairs of panties and a bra. I guess I will be doing laundry more frequently. Lol.

There is a website that you can "rent" plus clothing and send them back and they will send you more outfits. This way your not spending a ton of money on clothing that in a few months won fit. I have not used them yet as I am just 2 week post op but a co worker had the sleeeve in August and gave me the info. Check it out if you like.

Yeah, it's crazy, isn't it? I just cleaned out for the second time since my journey started and had to pick up a few things this wkd. My underwear did not fit any longer, and bras were too big, as well as pants and tops. I had no clue what size underwear to buy. They all looked so dinky, I thought there was no way my fat azz would fit lol.

I see you are in TX. I went to the San Marcos outlet malls, got great deals.

I'm about 10 miles from the San Marcos outlets, I'm in new Braunfels. Headed there this weekend, I'm only 7 weeks out, just need some jeans to get me by for a bit! Love the outlets!!!

Congratulations! I know what you mean, I just posted my story on here. I went to the mall yesterday, because all my clothes are basically hanging off me and automatically went for the bigger sizes. When I walked out of the store I had (2) size 12 pants and (2) large shirts. I was a tight 20, and 3xl shirt post surgery. It takes some getting used to (this new size). I look at all the cute small shirts and think "no way", but now I may actually fit them! Great news on your weightloss!

I can totally relay. I have cleaned out my closet twice. I'm currently wearing size 10 and I can't believe it. I leave in Smyrna, TN and I have been going to the consignment stores and thrifty stores to look for work clothes. I have no short/capris for summer. I love shopping but I just can't afford it. Great job on losing your weight! Have you already reached your goal weight?

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
