Had the baby 4.5 weeks early!

Recommended Posts

So I ended up having my beautiful son Hudson at 35 weeks and 4 days gestation.....He weighed 5.1lbs and was very healthy!! Came out bum first (frank breech) vaginally :) So far all is going well..I have had breast reductions so breast feeding has taken some time but I am exclusively only doing breast feeding with him.......

My question is....when did you all start getting fills again? Did you wait till after breast feeding was done or did you wait a few weeks then get a fill???? All I do is EAT ALL DAY LONG!!!!!!!! Esp chocolate :( Craving sweets like crazy!!!!!!!!!! I feel I have no restriction at all??? I am still filled to 6.5ccs so would likie to eventually get a fill......I have about 12lbs or so to lose....Gained 25lbs in total this pg.....

Beautiful! Congratulations!!! @@Suzyfit

If you are going to only breast feed your new little love, you are going to want and need to wait on fills until you are ready to transition. You and most especially your little one will need all the nutrition you can get in during this time and it's pertinent that you eat and drink and keep your strength up. There is always time for weight loss later down the road.

Take this time to heal and recover, as your body has been through something it doesn't' do every day even if it is a totally natural process, and most of all take the time to enjoy and love your little one!!!

Check in with your surgeon, and let them know your breast feeding and how long you plan to continue and their office and your nutritionist if you have one, (if you don't the hospital would be able to advise you for breast feeding nutrition) they will be the best resource for you as you go forward.

Don't worry if your hungry, that's normal. Try to make good nutritious choices and you won't go wrong :)

Awe so sweet! I agree with everyone about you breast feeding - just take it easy with your little guy and try to make healthy choices. You are burning a lot of calories breast feeding. Once he gets a little older than you can get back with the fills. Just enjoy your baby- forget about the other stuff it will work itself out!

Congrats!

I waited until I was done BFing to get a fill! You need that food to keep your supply up!

My doctor recommended I wait at least one month after, then he said I could get small fills to slowly go back up to my original fill amount. I still haven't made it back up to tho. Congratz by the way. :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
