Hi there everyone!

Sx was LAST Thursday (13th), and Im STARVING!

Three shakes a day, no problem, chewable multi-Vitamins, no problem 6-8 cups of H20 a day, no problem. Day 4 I even had severe stomach cramps because I was so hungry. Any advice ? I even beefed up how many ounces I have with my shakes and tried making it thicker than I did on day 2 or 3. Still, starving. I see the Dr the day after tomorrow, and Im just trying to live through the next 48 hrs with out eating my husband or my dogs LOL.

Thanks so much! Looking forward to giving advice to those who need it and getting the support from fellow Banders!

I drank beef and chicken broth.... Hot and savory, plus it was another temporary hold. Also SF Popsicles. You can do this!

Kell, same here. I was banded on the 13th too, healing fine, and getting hungry. Six weeks full liquids now. My NUT called today so I asked her how to make this doable. She said my surgeon likes a big weight loss during these six weeks so basically, tough it out. I can have Soups, so before I left work I drank an Ensure Clear for Protein, and when I got home, I walked the treadmill and then modified my own Soup. I used organic black bean soup in the blender with about a handful of frozen peas. Heated it up and it was heavenly. Just that extra thickening from the pureed peas is satisfying me now. I have a feeling that my blender will be my friend for the near future. Oh, today I realized that even the pudding and yogurt I was eating wasn't getting a chance to satisfy me because I've been sipping Water nonstop all day. Back to no liquids after eating for half an hour, even if eating is also a liquid. Seems obvious now, but I didn't notice it was flushing those foods through faster. So when I waited after pudding today to drink water, I stayed satisfied longer. Hope this helps.

My doctor requires 1 week of clear liquid. 2-3 full 3-6 puree and after 1st fill in 6wks I can do soft. My week will be up Thursday after my Dr appt. I can't wait to add some variety. I'm going to plan me a menu weekly and place on fridge so I can keep my self accountable. I love cream of wheat so I will take that for Breakfast, Soup for lunch and yogurts for dinner. I'm ready.

I'm able to do full liquids for the first 2 weeks. I've been eating Progresso Light Soups, I blend them and then cook a cup, they are very filling and delicious too. They are usually very chunky so I've been putting them in the Nutribullet and they are hitting the spot. I'm also able to eat Greek yogurt with no chunks, and so far haven't had any issues with anything going down. I'm one week out today!

I ate hot and sour Soup without the little stuff they have in it. It is wonderful as a change up! You can do it, it is only a short time! Best wishes! Karen

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
