ksc1965 52 Posted March 17, 2014 Is there pain /complications? Or is it as simple as you realize you are eating too much and not losing? I was banded 3-6. My first night of blended foods didn't go well. Terrible stomach cramps and guessing I ate too much. Didn't throw up but let's just say I was in the bathroom the entire night. (Sorry for the TMI) Since then I've had zero trouble... except I'm starving all the time and feel like I can eat way more than 1.5 cups. Have also caught myself eating too fast. I slowed down but then wondered why I didn't have a problem while eating that way. Now it's 1:30am and I can't sleep stressing that I did something wrong that first night. Amy input would be appreciated. Thanks!
terrydumont46 1,954 Posted March 17, 2014 you are okay. you are not swollen anymore. your band is wide open. I ate 8oz steaks during this time without incidence. but you are entering bandster hell. until you get your band adjusted with fills you will be fighting hunger. this is the time period in which you need a lot of self control. you are educating yourself with small amount of food, chewing well and slowly so when you are adjusted you are doing all the right things. 1 cup of food at meal time. most of it being Protein first, vegetables second and carbs third. 60 - 80grams of protein a day. if you don't watch what you are eating and the amount you will gain wt. a talk with a nut and your doctor will help explain this phase of the band you are starting. good luck and just remember just because you can eat whatever and a lot doesn't mean you should. eat healthy and move around. 3 ☠carolinagirl☠, Ivowtodoit and 2muchfun reacted to this
☠carolinagirl☠ 18,721 Posted March 17, 2014 terry was on point on her post.....and your dr is the only one who'd know if your band slipped or not.....always refer to the dr if you are super concerned/worried....alittle fluro xray and your fears are put to rest 1 Ivowtodoit reacted to this
fatty2hottie 57 Posted March 18, 2014 I was banded 3-6. Thanks! You more than likely have no Fluid in your band, which means you have little to no restriction. My first fill is tomorrow (banded 2/21) and I can eat a lot of food right now. That doesn't mean I do or should. My first 2.5 weeks I would get full off very little. The past week I have noticed that those same amounts do not leave me feeling satisfied. After tomorrow, I know that it will get better. You will be fine. Just stick to the diet (and amounts) your doctor assigned.
