PF Changs hot and sour soup

Recommended Posts

My husband can't take me to my post op appointment Wednesday and I don't think I should be driving the 80 miles myself yet. In order to get my mother in law to take me, I had to say we'd go to pf chang's, which is right next door to my doctor. I'll still be on my liquid phase, but one day away from liquids/soft foods. I noticed my handouts had egg drop Soup listed as a suggestion during this phase, but not hot and sour. According to the company's website, the hot and sour has less fat and calories. Is there some reason to avoid the hot and sour if I just eat the broth?

I agree, very selfish! I wish I could help you with the soup question, I really don't know, but it seems the broth would be ok. I'm 2 hours away from my surgeon, so I feel your pain there. I haven't had to go by myself yet, thank goodness.

I went to all my pre-op appointments alone, which didn't bother me in the least, but driving that far right after surgery scares me a little.

I would ask your surgeon as all plans are different but I was able to eat that Soup around the same time post op. For me though it didn't sit well, however the wonton soup was perfect!

I ate the Soup yesterday with no problems. It was wonderful. I just ate the broth and the little chunks of tofu since my doctor told me to go ahead and start with soft foods.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
