Anyone else have this?

When did you notice that it went away? How much did you weigh?

I weighed 266,before my sleeve. I had bladder incontinence so bad that I never knew when I needed to go. It would just pour out when I would stand up and I couldn't stop it. Immediately after surgery I noticed I didn't have it anymore. Before surgery I had lost down to 242, I now weigh at 7 1/2 mos 181 lbs. I went from wearing briefs to wearing panties again with a treasure pad and I rarely mess it up.

Wow this is hopeful.... I also had incontinence and had to wear briefs when i went out and I couldn't hold it that long if i had been out too long. I did notice that in the hospital I was able to always make it to the bathroom in time..... At home it seems to be the same now. I only had one incident now when i went out that i had some leakage when standing up walking into the house after being out a couple of hours...... it has seemed to improve. I wonder why??

My guess would be our stomachs are so big that taking most of it out is putting less weight on the bladder?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
