cyoungblood 4 Posted March 16, 2014 I'm scheduled to have surgery this coming Wednesday the 19th. I just found this app and can't help but wonder about the pre-op diet. My doctor only has me on a liquid diet the day before surgery. Most posts I see here talk about two weeks or more. Anyone else have such a short timeframe for the liquid diet? Mrs.RRn 2,111 Posted March 16, 2014 That's the same I had: Clear Liquids the day before, nothing after midnight. I chose to do an extra day of liquids to prepare for the MagCitrate cleanse. Lol
mollz007 60 Posted March 16, 2014 Every program is different. I had to do a week of liquids. You lucky duck! Good luck in surgery!
cyoungblood 4 Posted March 16, 2014 Thanks ladies! That makes me feel better. I may opt to do the extra day as well. Sounds like a good idea.
Stacilyn 7 Posted March 16, 2014 I read about everyone losing weight before surgery and the 2 week diet. I was really confused. My doctor's office has yet to go over all of that with me. Maybe on my last appointment the nutritionist will come in and talk to me. Heck, maybe they are waiting to get approval from my insurance first before they starting talking to me about it. LadyCane 12 Posted March 16, 2014 I start my pre-op diet tomorrow for surgery on 3/31. I can eat whatever I want as long as it is 1200 calories/day. I get one cheat day and then liquids for the final two days before surgery. I went on a real bender this weekend. I don't think I'll be hungry for a couple of days.
