LalaLori 2 Posted March 16, 2014 My surgeon and I never discussed a goal. I have surgery tomorrow and I am at 245. I'm 5'8" and 40 years old. BMI charts say 164 or below. Is this realistic? Or should I shoot for more? Personally I know I'll be happy just being under 200 again. Any thoughts?

moonshun 7 Posted March 16, 2014 Good Luck tomorrow LalaLori. I am also having surgery tomorrow. These nerves are crazy!! I never discussed a goal with my surgeon either. I am 5'6" and hope to see 150 but honestly I want to be happy with myself and healthy. The number isn't as important to being comfortable with who I am. Maybe I should add that to the list of questions that is growing for my surgeon!
Bob2013 326 Posted March 16, 2014 Its absolutely realistic. This is a lifelong commitment. Getting to your optimum weight should always be your final goal. Until then you can always set sub goals like 2 lbs per week average.
